Today I am obsessed with...

Now, if I could just get the body to go into these beauties, that would be wonderful. Any suggestions? (And please don't tell me diet and exercise...I'm looking for some miracle working, quick fixes)

Meet my little...boy?

The other day I was at work and I got a text from one of Mary Ford's teachers. She was asking me what time I was planning on picking her up because she was out of clothes. I found this strange since she usually has two spare outfits there. But, I wrote her back and let her know that I would be there soon and would she be able to wait an hour or so. Miss Ashley said off course and then she asked a very important question...had I fed Mary Ford prunes? I laughed out loud hysterically because yes, the night before I had decided to give them a try and she LOVED them! I had no idea they would really have such an effect on her, but they sure did. When I went to pick her up, I walked into the room and saw the cutest little boy sitting in the jumperoo....no wait....it was my daughter!!! Since she had "blown" through all her own clothes, they had looked in their spare closet. They said they pulled out the only girl's outfit, read the tag which said 3 months, held it up to Mary Ford and quickly decided there was no way she was going to fit. So, they had to resort to putting her in little boy's clothes. It definitely gave me a glimpse of what my son might look like one day!
On this same note, does anyone else have a problem with strangers always thinking that your baby girl is a boy? Everywhere we go people are asking us, "What is his name?" or "He is so cute" or "My, that is a big boy". It's really starting to get on my nerves...

Today I am obsessed with...

This is the most amazing smelling stuff in the world! I literally want to eat my baby after she gets out of the bath! My wonderful sister-in-law(ish) gave us the baby wash, lotion, drawer liners and laundry wash as a gift and I LOVE it! In fact, I have already had to buy more...twice! I get so many compliments on the smell that I have had to send it to friends as a gift. Honestly, if I could afford to do all my laundry with this stuff I would.

Can you imagine if this was your kitchen...

Or this one...

or this one???Images from Smitten Photos

The "and Sons" of this incredibly talented trio happened to go to Georgia with me. And their wives (who also happened to go to school with us) have started one of my FAVORITE Etsy shops ever... Stewart & James! Check out their website and blog here. And if you are interested to see how my little girl's nursery turned out, click here to see us featured on their blog. All 5 (yes 5) custom frames in our nursery were made by these girls (well, by the people that make frames out of the wood they find) and they couldn't be more perfect! Thanks Kristen and Arre!

Today I am obsessed with...

Stray Dog Designs!

There are about 100 different lamps that I want...all of which I can't afford. Of course, I also would love a pair of these in my house...

I was able to score this little gem for half off at Cocoon in downtown Macon, GA (love this little store that also carries Serena & Lily AND Dash & Albert...how perfect!) for our nursery...so cute and exactly what I was looking for!

My heart

A wee bit of heaven drifted down from above -
A handful of happiness, a heartful of love.

The mystery of life, so sacred and sweet -
The giver of joy so deep and complete.

Precious and priceless,so lovable, too -
The world's sweetest miracle, baby, is you.

It all began outfitting racing sailors with an eye for quality and authenticity. Now, we’re on a new course to make clothing that’s real and relevant for how you live today. Lands’ End Canvas invites customers to create their own look with simple, well-crafted clothes that offer possibilities, not prescriptions. Picky Sticky

If you are looking for an inexpensive but awesome baby gift, check these out. A friend of mine (Stew) told me about these stickers and they are the greatest. It is a twelve pack of stickers that are numbered "0" through "12" months. They have many different designs for boys or girls, and then some unisex ones (which of course is what I bought since we didn't know what little miss was going to be). All you do is peel them off and stick them onto a plain onesie and you are ready to go. I promised I would be diligent about taking pictures every month...oops. Here are a few that I did catch, and I am going to try to get all the remaining months from here on out!

Ok, this one isn't with the sticker, but it is a 3 month picture and it's cute, ok!

If I had the guts...

I would wear things like this...

Today I am obsessed with...

Dash & Albert Rug Company And not because they use the cutest dogs in their advertising...

...but, because their rugs are adorable and I want, like, 15 to put all around my house, inside and out.

Speaking of little green birdies...

How cute are these?

I found these little treasures while revisiting Ballard Designs after a long period of throwing their catalog in my recycling bin. I guess I always thought that BD was a little too "hokie" as my friends here in Georgia like to say (I, being a VA Tech Hokies fan since birth find this a bit offensive, but it just seems to be the appropriate term here), until I saw this in the most recent issue of Lonny...

I will be bookmarking this in my "one-day-when-I-can-really-afford-to-decorate-my-home" folder.

I love you right up to the moon...

and back.
One of my favorite stories to read at bedtime is "Guess How Much I Love You". It is the sweetest story about a baby rabbit and a daddy rabbit and every time we read it to our baby girl it almost makes me cry. I hope it will be one of her favorite stories one day too.

Etsy Love

I might have a small obsession with Etsy.com. Ok, so I have a lot of obsessions these days, but I can't help it. There is so much out there to love. I discovered Etsy while trying to perfectly outfit my bird themed nursery. It was there that I found my beloved NEST letters and my Stewart & James custom frames (I must admit that I already knew about Stewart & James and actually didn't go through Etsy to order my frames, but they are on there. I will get back to them shortly.) and my bird pillow. All of these unique purchases came together (along with a little help from my friends Serena and Lily) to make my baby girl's perfect nursery.

Have you seen this yet?

For those of you out there that love to drool over interiors and waste time thinking about your dream home, here is a little something for you....Lonny magazine!

This online-only home magazine is a spin-off from Domino magazine, which has unfortunately gone bye-bye. I love this format though, because there are direct links to all the fun stuff on each page making it easy to locate all the goods. Of course, making it online didn't make it more affordable to me, but a girl can dream right?

A few of my favorites from this issue...
Now, can someone please explain to me how they can make this ungainly stack of books look stylish and fabulous, but at my house this would be dusty clutter? I'm just sayin'...

I love how they have taken this dated, pink bathroom tile and made it fresh with this hip black and white wall paper. I will have to remember this when we make the move into an old, dated house with "charm" and "potential".

These sweet and SUPER soft dolls are the cutest thing out there! My sister-in-law (well, my husband's sister-in-law but whatever) and my precious neice gave Mary Ford one for Christmas and she is attached to it! I think it may end up being her version of my booboo (yes, I called my baby blanket booboo and yes, I still have it AND yes, I slept with it in my bed until I got married!) If I had all the money in the world I would buy her every single one of these...including these GIANT blablas! Here is my monkey with her blabla...

I miss you Russell and Beechwood Cinemas!

Having a baby really puts a damper on your movie watching abilities. There have been so many movies that have come and gone from the cinemas the past six months that I have wanted to see. I guess I will be waiting for them to come out on video. The price of a baby sitter defeats the free movie admission (thank you Russell, Sunday through Thursday!).

But, I promise that I will NOT be missing this one in the theaters!

Ga ga ooh la la...

Anyone else have Lady Gaga's Bad Romance stuck in their head today? It must be from the horrible reditions of this song that I suffered through on American Idol last week...wow, those were awful!

How sweet it is...

Two of the most wonderful and fun people were wed in holy matrimony last weekend...and they are my friends! How lucky am I?! The wedding was here in Athens (hallelujah for no traveling!) and it was beautiful! The bride had asked for a white wedding, and low and behold...

she got it! That is TWICE it has snowed here in Athens in the last year. I have lived here for 11 years and it is only dusted a few times. Then we get two ACTUAL snow storms in a year? Crazy! This made for quiet an interesting Friday night, but it was beautiful!

Check out these amazing pictures taken by the super cool and very talented Abbey Lindsey of Dylan Blue Photography These are some of the best wedding pics I have ever seen (since my wedding of course, hehehe...)

Between all the wedding festivities, we had a chance to have a little fun in the snow ourselves...

Can you tell my sweet baby girl is teething? She can't keep those hands out of her mouth to save her life!

I am always obsessed with...

For those of you wondering about the name of this blog, you might ask my husband. He feels I have a slight obsession with birds and the color green (he would be correct). If you have ever been to our home you would know this...

When I say birds, I mean the cute little birdies with the big bellies and pretty tweets that flutter around our yard...

I by no means have any affection for the big nasty crows or vultures that you see in the sky circling the deceased...gross.
